FreeFall has always been committed to environmental sustainability and as part of this commitment, we no longer accept paper submissions for our regular submission season. Please submit all prose and poetry online using our submission page.
Our regular submission season runs from July 1st to November 30th and we accept Canadian entries only. International writers can submit to our annual contest issue, which runs from December 1st to April 30th. We also accept artwork! Submit your black and white photos or original artwork to be considered as a future cover or included in the issue. Details for sizing and submission is available here.
Freefall accepts prose pieces with a word count of up to 4000 words. Pieces can be fiction, creative non-fiction, plays, novel excerpts or postcard stories.
Payment is $10.00 per page in the magazine, to a maximum of $100.00 and one copy of issue that your piece is published in. Payment is made upon publication.
Freefall accepts 2-5 poems, in any style. Length of any individual poem cannot exceed 6 pages.
Payment is $25.00 per poem and one copy of issue that your piece is published in. Payment is made upon publication.
Freefall accepts black and white photos or original artwork. Submit your images with a maximum size of 6” x 4” — minimum of 300 dpi, as artistname_title.jpg.
FreeFall pays $100.00 for cover art/photo and one copy of the magazine upon publication. We also provide the artist/photographer a one page bio inside the issue to promote themselves.
Freefall accepts with a proposal for author interviews or author focus (guidelines supplied when proposal approved) and book reviews (guidelines supplied when proposal approved).
